Article reads as follows:

A Los Alamitos man, quite a familiar figure around town, has been pierced in a feature story on "body piercing" in the Aug. 11 issue of the Press Telegram. Earl Van Aken II, an employee of the Family Fitness Center, has long been noticed wherever he goes because of his extensive body tattoos, including what was apparently a large sunburst on the back of his bald (or shaved) head, which proved endlessly fascinating and a little distracting to those sitting behind him in church. Now Earl has added to his exotic appearance with the addition of that "all-over pierced look," with ornaments pierced into his nostrils, between his eyes, both nipples and his navel, the tops and lobes of his ears, his tongue, the back of this neck, and more not readily visible. (You can imagine!) Earl says he views his body as the canvas and body piercing a an art form. "I am a creative manifestation of myself," he is quoted as saying. Earl is a very pleasant, educated, interesting man, with or without the bodily adornment. Well, different strokes for different folks.
